This Young Vic production of Tennessee Williams’s 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof burns bright enough to both scorch and illuminate. This searing, poetic story of a family’s fight for survival, brings combustible conviction to a smoldering classic that has only rarely ignited in performance in recent years. Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live bring Nicholas Hytner’s production of “Julius Caesar” from the stage to the big screen. The acclaimed production of “Julius Caesar” will thrust audiences into the street party that greets Caesar’s triumphant return to Rome. Alarmed by the autocrat’s popularity, the educated élite conspire to bring him down, but a rally assembles for his funeral and chaos explodes in its wake. This thrilling production includes David Calder (Caesar), Ben Whishaw (Brutus), Michelle Fairley (Cassius) and David Morrissey (Marc Antony).
A CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT - Thursday November 29, 2018 @ 7 pm
Based on the acclaimed novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens, Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

Broadcast live from the National Theatre, Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play Shakespeare’s famous fated couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion and power. Caesar and his assassins are dead. General Mark Antony now rules alongside his fellow defenders of Rome. But at the fringes of a war-torn empire the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love. In a tragic fight between devotion and duty, obsession becomes a catalyst for war. Director Simon Godwin returns to National Theatre Live screens with this hotly anticipated production, following previous broadcasts of Twelfth Night, Man and Superman and The Beaux’ Stratagem.

I’m Not Running is an explosive new play by David Hare, premiering at the National Theatre and broadcast live to cinemas. Pauline Gibson has spent her life as a doctor, the inspiring leader of a local health campaign. When she crosses paths with her old boyfriend, a stalwart loyalist in Labour Party politics, she’s faced with an agonising decision. What’s involved in sacrificing your private life and your piece of mind for something more than a single issue? Does she dare? Hare was recently described by The Washington Post as ‘the premiere political dramatist writing in English’. His other work includes Pravda and Skylight, broadcast by National Theatre Live in 2014.
